In the fall of 2021, Christoph Prégardien, Udo Samel, and curator Julius Drake launched the Lied und Lyrik series with a musical and literary tribute to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Now the three artists are back to explore the works of Eduard Mörike, who even in his own lifetime was called the most important successor to the master from Weimar. In readings and musical settings from the 19th and 20th centuries, they invite the audience to discover the unexpected and the mysterious beneath the Biedermeier façade of Mörike’s verses.
