Magdalena Kožená has long been acclaimed for her wide-ranging repertoire from Lully to Kurt Weill. With her Pierre Boulez Saal recital, she returns to an early passion of hers, performing Italian vocal works of the Renaissance and early Baroque eras, which she had first explored during her studies. “I grew up with this music and wanted to come back to it,” the mezzo-soprano says. Her program, for which she is joined by lutenist Daniele Caminiti (who will also perform his own improvisations), unites Kožená’s love for Early Music with an equal devotion to contemporary works, including Berio’s famous Sequenza III for solo voice.
