Martin Gretschmann loves musical experiments—whether as a former member of the German band The Notwist or with his solo act Acid Pauli. He now joins forces with Norwegian jazz musician Karl Ivar Refseth and Cuban drummer Rodney Yllarza Barreto to form a trio that brings together a highly unconventional mix of backgrounds. Together they perform their own version of Terry Riley’s minimalist classic In C for vibraphone, percussion, and live electronics. For the concert’s second half, they will venture into unknown territory with an entirely improvised set.
