A kitchen. A married couple. A dinner is being prepared. Chopping, stirring, seasoning. The table is set, glasses clink, final touches are made - everything should be ready before the guests arrive. Scenes from real life: familiar, everyday and sometimes wonderfully absurd. “An Evening with the Voermans” brings precisely these familiar routines to the stage as a subtly choreographed play of rhythm, humour and timing: a real DRUMCOM. DRUM stands for the instruments: marimba, vibraphone, drums, cymbals, in short: lots of percussion. COM stands for comedy - humour, timing, friction and the small drama in everyday madness. The duo Maren and Mark Voermans - classically trained percussionists and a well-tried married couple - combine music and scene to create surprising soundscapes and a captivating concert experience.
