The Staatskapelle Berlin and its General Music Director Christian Thielemann will perform at three renowned European concert halls this season: the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Isarphilharmonie in Munich and the Musikverein in Vienna. In addition to Brahms’ impressive Deutschem Requiem, the programme includes orchestral songs by Strauss and Beethoven’s Pastoral – music by composers with whom the orchestra is particularly familiar and with whom it has been working repeatedly and in ever greater depth for many years.
